This friday was the opening of the Uniqlo Flagship Store in Shenzhen, which happens to in the Shopping mall right next to our home.
Uniqlo is a Japanese clothing brand, known for simple but good lifestyle clothes.
The store opened on friday and already at noon there were around hundred people queuing up infront of it to get in. Weeks before the opening they rented dozens of billboards and a whole underground station for advertisement - being almost neighbors of the store we could feel that something big was to happen.
On Saturday in the afternoon we also dared ourselves to wait for entering. We were told to wait around 20 minutes but already after 15 minutes we entered the paradise of shopping.
The store is four floors of clothing and at this time there were at least 100 people per floor plus maybe 20 employees on every floor. You would think that with this huge amount of people in the store there would be a total chaos… It was noisy, yes but the whole store was clean and very organized! In the fitting room they would clean the floor after every single person!!!
After shopping, you got a little gift because it was the opening but even a better thing is the feeling, that you were one of the first people to enter this store.
For me this is kind of a special experience, because in Switzerland there would never be as much people waiting to enter a store. But in China queuing is a good thing, because we always wait for something especially good!
