Hongkong

Last week I went to Hongkong for some days togther with my brother, his friend Seven and my friend Clara.

The travelling crew: Me, Seven, Oli, Clara

On the frist day we left Shenzhen in the late afternoon and went to Hongkong by public transportation. We took the Shenzhen metro to Luohu 罗湖,where we crossed the border (which was surprisingly fast) and then took the Hongkong metro to Jordan, where our hostel was located. Our hostel was quite small but very nice and the location was very convenient.

In the evening we went to Tsi Sha Tsui 尖沙咀 to take the obligatory touristic picture. I’d like to share one of the rare pictures with you, where both my brother and me both smile and have the eyes open. ;-)

On our second day in the morning we went to a flower market and because the Chinese New Year was soon to come, there were hundreds of mandarin trees. They are symbols for luck, long life and prosperity.

For lunch we went to the Hard Rock Cafe, because it’s my friend’s favourite place to eat in Honkong and even me, who’s not really a burger fan must admit that the burgers were really tasty!

In the evening we went to the Ozone bar, the highest bar in the world. If you read my blogs closely, you will notice that we’ve already been to the same bar on our China Family holiday, but the view from there is simply amzing.

On our third day we went to the Victoria Peak. Like everyone else, we took up the Peak tram and then took some pictures on the top. The place was quite crowded.

But then we decided to walk back down and there were almost no people doing that, even though the nature was very beautiful.

The fourth day was already our last day. In the morning we did some final shopping and then the two boys checked in their bagage. In the afternoon we wanted to go to the Science museum, but on that day it was closed for maintenance. So then we found a little nice coffee on the other side of the street.

This was it for Hongkong, in the evening Oli and Seven went back to the cold Switzerland and I went back to Shenzhen to soon celebrate the Chinese new year… But more about this next time.
