Since only a minority of the people here are Christians, Christmas is not an official holiday in China… Nevertheless they love Christmas here and the city is getting into the Christmas Spirit for sure!
Almost everywhere they put up lights and treesy with christmas gifts under the tree and some fake snow on top of it… I’ve also seen several Santa Clauses coming to town and beign a highly interesting subject to take pictures with!
Even if a white Christmas is something that I can only dream of this year, it’s indeed getting quite cold this weekend. Temperatures dropped to 8-15°C this weekend and it’s supposed to stay cold until Christmas. In Shenzhen, most buildings are not equipped with a heating system, so you feel the cold weather all day and as a result there is a lot of sneezing and coughing everywhere…
Even if this is not the Christmas I’m used to I’m very happy to keep a nice tradition of mine and today I baked some Zimtsterne and Spitzbuben together with my friend!
With that beign it for today, I wish you all a Merry Christmas – or as we say here 圣诞快乐 Shèngdàn kuàilè – and hope your christmas time is filled with happiness, joy and love no matter how and where you celebrate it!
