Since almost two weeks I am now living in my own room. I live in a room in a shared apartment. The apartment is on the 12th floor of the building and I am living in the room number 5. To get in to the apartment and my room, there is no key needed, you just type in a code to get in.
My room is installed quite simple, but very convenient. In one part of the room there is my wardrobe and my bed. Contrary to my expectation, the bed here is with a width of 150 cm even bigger than the one I have in Switzerland… Originally it was quite hard, but since I bought a softening cover, it is comfortable to sleep in it.
In the other part of my room is a little counter, my desk and a chair. On my desk I have a lamp, my pens, my laptop and in the drawer beneath there is my school stuff. On my chair I usually have my clothes, but since I cleaned my room for the pictures, it is very neat : )
Sitting on my desk I can glance out of my window. I see some other houses, the mostly crowded road and a construction site. Just in front of our building they are building a new metro station. Hopefully it will be finished while I’m still here.
In a panoramic picture, my room looks like this:
In our apartment there are in total four rooms. Right now three of them are occupied by a Chinese girl, an exchange student from Italy and me. The fourth room is still empty but there have been some people visiting it. In addition to the four rooms there is a bathroom shared by three people, a storage room where we hang up our clothes, a kitchen and an dining room with a table.
The location of the apartment is perfect for me: The University can be reached by two bus stops or a 10 minutes ride by bike, there is a bus station just in front of the building, there is a big grocery store just across the street and a mall with even more stores only 10 minutes to walk.
I am really happy to live here and I think I found a great place!
